This November 5th weekend, expect to see the night sky lit up with a dazzling array of works as Britons across the country head out into the late autumn chill to celebrate the thwarted attempt by Guy Fawkes to blow up the Houses of Parliament in what is more commonly known today as The Gunpowder Plot.
Though whilst you can attend Guy Fawkes Night celebrations anywhere in the country, is there anywhere really better suited than London, the very place where this historical event actually took place?
If you’re staying with us at the Amsterdam Hotel in Earls Court this coming weekend, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to top places to see the November 5th fireworks in the capital Below, we’ve picked out just a few of the best.

Crystal Palace Fireworks
Thursday November 5th, 6pm
Crystal Palace Park, SE20 8DT
Another grand bonfire event accessible from Earls Court Station near our hotel, Crystal Palace Park has been hosting its double firework displays for over 150 years, making it one of the longest running events of its type anywhere in London.
If you’re staying in London with small children, you’ll be pleased to know there’s a child-friendly firework show at 7pm, meaning you can treat the kids before getting them home for bed time. Later, at 8.30, the main display takes place, with a ‘dancing through the decades’ theme in honour of its 150 year anniversary.
